Hi, I'm a guy who isn't married yet or have a child. I was wondering if I should just raise my kids without giving them any toys or spoil them with anything in their younger years so they will be grateful for what they have. I will never yell at them, insult them or physically punish them. I will want to focus a lot on their education and become really smart(not by learning a lot of knowledge but by being creative). I will also let them exercise and play a lot of sports so they don't become full blown unfit nerds. I won't let them watch television too much. I will let them socialize but also make it clear that they have to stop participating in certain activities when I tell them to(or give them the initiative to) . Overall, I don't want them to make the same mistakes I made(being lazy), or even make the mistakes that most modern kids/teenagers make.

Ok. So ive been with my GF for over a year and love her to death. She happens to LOVE sex. Alot. So on new years she told me her resolution was to make love with me every. single. day. of 2011. I work at an Alternative School for court ruled, neglected, and troubled teens, and throughput July, I have to plan summer activities for them. Due to the fact that it's an Alternative School, it is fairly strict and therefore, physical contact is a violation for the kids here. So, I need activities for these teen girls to participate in that lack much physical contact. Some of the ideas we have proposed thus far include Zumba, scrapbooking, movies, and making tie dye shirts. Why do some landlords participate in the section 8 program yet expect an obsceine amount of money for security?

Why do some landlords participate in the section 8 program yet expect an obsceine amount of money for security deposits from prospective tenants? Are these landlords not aware of the fact that section 8 program is for low-income, disabled, and elderly people? Then they should know that people in this category simply do not have the means of handing over large sums of money to rent a place to live. If they did, they would not be eligible for section 8.I think it's very wrong of some landlords to turn possibly good tenants away simply because they do not have 2000.00 and up to hold an apartment while it goes thru inspection process of the housing agency. Quite simply, "landlords", if you don't know, now you do, Section 8 is for poor people if you really want to help the poor, please follow the guidelines of the section 8 program and stop extorting money from the unfortunate and elderly/disabled. Section 8 is a good program. It is garunteed rent every month. Not all participants are good tenants, but a vast majority of us are. Just some food for thought, thank you.

Question about Ohm's Law ?

You use Ohm's Law to determine the value of the needed resistor. First you calculate the resistance you need by V = I*R (Ohm's Law), Then you calculate the wattage of this resistor by P = V*I = (I^2)(R) or P = (V^2)/R. Where V is the voltage dropped across the resistor R, I is the current through the resistor R and P is the power dissipated by the resistor R. Lets say the resistor needed is 210 ohms with a wattage of 40 milliwatts. Next you determine if it is a standard part. You can't buy a 210 ohm 5% tolerance 40 milliwatt resistor.Resistors are available with a 1/4, 1/2, 1 watt and higher power dissipation, always buy a resistor with a higher power rating than you need.You can buy a 200 ohm 5% tolerance, 1/4 watt resistor or a 220 ohm 5% 1/4 watt resistor. The tolerance means that the 200 ohm resistor can up to 5% greater in value or 5% less in value i.e. from 190 to 210 ohms. Likewise the 220 ohm resistor can be 11 ohms less or 11 ohms more than 220 ( 209 to 231 ohms). So now you have to decide if either of these will work. I have a variable resistor and i have no idea how to wire it?

The variable resistor will work for a single LED, but if you move beyond that, you should check out PWM circuits, mainly because multiple LEDs won't react the same given a certain voltage. The way you dim an LED is through Pulse Width Modulation. It's basically a control that turns the LED on and off very fast, and you vary how long the 'ON' portion lasts, so that the perceived light is less than if the LED was continuously on. Confused about resistors and potential dividers?

I thought that resistors worked by increasing the difficulty with which the electrons move through that part of the circuit. The electrons had to "fight" to get past the resistor, and in doing so used up a certain amount of electromotive force (which, I've been told, is equivalent to voltage). However I am studying potential divider circuits and it is said that the voltage, rather than being used up to "get across" the resistor, goes into a side-circuit and can be used used to operate, for instance, a bulb. If the resistor used is a variable resistor and the resistance decreases, it that there is less voltage travelling into the side-circuit so the bulb doesn't light. I don't understand this; if there is less voltage being used up to "get across" the resistor surely there is more voltage left to travel into the side-circuit? Please help!!

I had this same problem. I did 2 things. I converted my ringtones to an ultra low bit rate format called qcp - they sounded horrible, but downloaded to the sd card they worked. I gave up trying to put mp3 ringtones on it until a few months later when my job gave me a blackberry. Not sure why I tried this, but I put the ringtones on that phone (just copied to the sd card, simplest ringtone install ever!!) and then mailed them from that phone to the Reality. once received as text message attachments from another Verizon phone, the reality agreed to set them as ringtones/

In general, jailbreaking makes your device amazing. You can do basically anything once you jailbreak it. There are no limitations. But with that being said.. When I had my iPhone 3Gs it killed my battery so quickly. I couldn't understand what was doing it. An hour and a half of usage and 4 hours of standby and my battery was down to 30%. It was insane. So once I got my iPhone 4 I decided to not jailbreak it. I do have an old iPod Touch jailbroken but it's really your call. Yes I would recommend it, but just don't put any battery draining tweaks on it like I did.

I am going to be a sophomore this coming year at a private school in the suburbs. This past year, as a freshman, I took the the three honors courses that are offered for freshmen (physics, geometry, and spanish) as well as history and english. My final grades were a B+ in history, B in geometry and physics, and A- in spanish and english. I participated in two theatre productions at school (during the winter and spring) and contributed to three clubs. Next year I will be in all honors, except for history. If I move up to AP history in the middle of next year or do all honors my junior year, what will my chances of getting into an ivy league or the equivalent, or even Oxford or Cambridge be like? I haven't taken the SATs or PSATs or anything like that yet but I will next year. Please keep in mind that I will have 60 hours or more of community service by the end of my senior year and most probably three activity credits for each of my sophomore, junior, and senior years. I'm a female high school student. I suffer from Major depression and anxiety problems. I don't and never had any friends. All of my teacher treat me nice when it comes to female ones. I had a total of 5 different male teachers, and two treat me like ****!. One was my Economics teacher and the other one of of my PE teacher Individual sports. I am in a town summer production of "Footloose". Everyone can participate ages 7+. In last year's production of Bye Bye Birdie, I was cast in a large group role: with LOTS of little kids. This year I was cast in that same general group role as a townsperson. I am 14 years old. I am going to be a freshman next year. I went to the first rehearsal and I honestly felt like I was babysitting. They even said on the website that kids ages 7-11 could leave at 8:00. I asked if I had to leave or stay because I had the same part as them. They said I could leave, too. This made me a little angry: I was cast the same thing as the sevenyear olds. I am just about the only one my age. And the kids my age are in the teen choir. I worked really hard for the audition, did better than my friends, and prepared a solo piece and they got a better part than me. I know that I should be happy that I got in (with EVERYBODY else) but honestly I want to be challenged. I'm a born soprano and the stuff we're singing is like monotone alto. Would it be fair to ask the director if it's possible to put me in the teen choir instead? I'm a good actress and singer, but I didn't understand their decision. If I do ask, what do I say? I've had 7 people tell me today to say something about it but I don't feel like I'm in the right place to complain about it. Then again, if i I don't say anything, the play will be ruined for me. A quick question about ramadan? (FOR MUSLIMS)?

Usually i do participate in fasting every ramadan but now im 15 and ive been weak and skinny i mean very very weak and skinny and tall my whole life and the rest of my family brother dad mom and sister are all big and strong and have some extra fat like a healthy person and after last ramadan was over i got even skinnier and weaker so when last ramadan finished (september 2010) ive been eating twice as much and larger meals and lean meats and protiens and vitamin rich foods to help gain some weight and muscle and fat. And i wouldnt want to undo all that hard work (ive gained a little weight but i am still very very skinny and weak) i dont want to stop the progress im trying to make in gaining fat and weight by participating in the fast during ramadan coming up so would it be okay for me to not fast and continue eating the way i have all day and everyday during ramadan. Or would it be against the way of the tradition and religion and a bad deed to do. and would it be rude to my parents brother and sister? To eat while they are starving themselves? Can i skip fasting this year to continue my goal? Or should i not worry about it during ramadan and fast like everyone else? Thank you !

Capacitor will not charge?? please help?

I have a Bullz 4.4 Capacitor and I cant get it to charge. I have a 4 gauge power wire going from the battery to the Cap (I took the fuse out and of the fuse holder and hooked up a 12v light bulb in its place), I have 4 gauge ground wire grounded. 1973 Ford Blower Motor Resistor - Expert Difficult Question?

I have a 1973 Ford Country Squire. The blower motor resistor needs replacing. The blower motor resistor is right next to the blower motor. It is located on the passenger side right by the wheel well and the hinge of the hood. It looks like it is held in with rivets? How do I remove it? We have an LCD screen and the left side of the screen gets really dark. It usually starts after we've been watching for a bit. Normally the top corner goes first then the rest of the left side follows. If the top portion of the TV itself (not the screen) is squeezed, the picture sometimes gets better. My brother taps the side of the TV and the picture usually returns. Any actual advice besides taking it to a shop or using the warranty (since the warranty expired already). Swollen Tonsils and sore tongue?

Late in April I participated in Oral sex. A week or so later my tonsils were inflamed and I was getting a lot of phlegm. I heard from a friend of mine that the person I was with used to have gonorrhea but wasn't sure if they still had it (I checked with them and they said they didn't - they had gotten checked not long ago). I am a stay at home with a 18 mth old boy and live in Kajang, Selangor. Sometimes it gets a bit boring staying at home the whole day and my son starts to get hyper and restless.We do go to the playground every evening and do activities like painting and 4 piece puzzles and stuff at home but that doesn't always interest him. Building a laptop charger?

i do have a adjustable dc power supply(0-30). i do have a proto-board (breadboard) and i do have a cord that can plug into my laptop from the proto-board. the laptop runs on 19v-2.64 amps. i figured simply using ohms law i would get what i need, but no that didn't work, my resistors are just burning up. cant i just build a simple circuit to run the laptop.

A/C Heater has gone out on my truck i need help to figure out the problem!?

my a/c heater on my 2004 gmc sierra quit working a while back but it came back on and ran for a while and its out again! i know a little bit abt mechanicing but not a lot abt a/c heaters so im doin it myself so i can save money and learn a little abt it! Heres the details all my levels on my main dash controls are off by 1 for instance 0 is 1, 1 is 2, 2 is 3, 3 is 4, 4 is 5, and 5 is 0! you can hear the fan kick on when you play with the dial but no air blows, when im driving over 30 mph it will blow hot when on heat and cold when on ac but very little and it blows harder the faster you drive but when its just idling it does nothing! i think it might be my blower motor or my resistor if this sound like something you have dealt with or you know what it might be any advice is GREATLY appreciated i love learning new stuff so teach me! thank you

in a nutshell....adult criminal records are public and juvenile criminal (or 'adjudication') records are private. this results in denial of employment for adults with criminal backgrounds yet not juveniles who later become adults and apply for employment. That's not the issue tho. The issue is whether or not a constitutional claim could be successfully litigated challenging a state's decision to make juvenile criminal records exempt under the public records act when the same state allows the public access to juvenile sex offenders records(they have to report and notifications go out just like adults). If a state wants to keep juvenile criminal records sealed which basically means they can later apply for employment without having to worry about a background check exposing what they did as a juvenile for whatever reason they 'claim' then great, but how do they justify making an exception regarding juvenile sex offenders? If they are going to make exceptions then obviously the original reason behind sealing juvenile records is now shattered by their statute requiring juvenile sex offenders to report just like adult offenders. shouldn't the state now be required to make public all juvenile serious offenders' records? If not, wouldn't this constitute an equal protection violation because adult offender records are public and the state's position regarding the original intent behind sealing juvenile records via the enactment of a statute requiring juvenile serious sex offenders to report just like adult offenders won't hold up now? I think this would be a good case to entertain in federal court.......at the very least perhaps the judicial circuit I'm in may order some type of study to be conducted (I participated in a study created by a federal judicial circuit regarding the grievance policy of a state (all the states within that circuit) which they were going to attempt to adopt for that circuit in relation to the federal law requiring prisoners to first utilize the prison grievance procedure before filing civil actions) but your thoughts on this would be appreciated.

How do i know if an amp is blown?

I have 2 kicker comp vr 12" subs and a 1200 Watt pyramid amp with 4 channels. 1 of the channels already didnt work and i noticed a resistor inside the amp was broken but half of the amp still worked fine. I was driven one day and my subs just stop hitting. I didnt see any blown fuses and the amp still says its getting power but my subs are silent. Is my amp blown? and if not how do i fix this

Capacitor wont charge?

I have a Bullz 4.4 Capacitor and I cant get it to charge. I have a 4 gauge power wire going from the battery to the Cap (I took the fuse out and of the fuse holder and hooked up a 12v light bulb in its place), I have 4 gauge ground wire grounded. The cap display will not turn on and it just makes a high pitch noise. The light bulb lights up but the cap isnt charging. please help!!!!!!! The cap didn't come with a resistor

I can't get ohm's law to work!?

12V DC battery, and I want to drop 7V to power an LED which needs 80mA at 5 volts. Ohm's law states V=IR, so 7v=.08R and R=87.5 ohms. I grab a 100 ohm resistor and hook it to the battery, and yet my meter still reads 11.15 V. What is going on here? Thanks!

Learning German, then going to school there?

My Oma lives in Mainz, Germany, and when I graduate from high school in December I'm going to live with her for four months to improve my German, then I'm coming back to the states. I'm either going to go to school here in the states, or I am going to spend a year in Germany living in Mainz and taking classes at the Goethe Institute preparing me to pass the DaF so that I can attend school at one of the universities. My goal is to be able to obtain a work visa after school and stay in Germany if it works out. My question is, do you think it's possible that I can reach enough fluency in German to attend a university there? I've taken 4.5 years of high school German, my dad is a fluent German speaker and is currently only speaking to me auf Deutsch. I would love to be in Germany for school; this is only a dilemma because if I choose to spend that year in Germany to learn the language, if I haven't reached enough fluency and decide I can't attend a university there I might not be able to start school in the states until I'm 21. I don't know what that would mean for ACT scores and etc, but basically I'm choosing one or the other. Yes I've thought about studying abroad. The schools that I'm applying to in the states for my major do not offer good study abroad programs, the longest period of time I can participate is up to a year. So. It's one or the other for me, I don't want to ruin my education to switch countries, but this is an opportunity that is more available to me than other people and I'm not sure about due to the circumstances. Any information from personal experience, or any suggestions? Also, my Oma is getting old and I don't have a lot of family in Germany still, so because of that and if I'm paying American college tuition, I won't be able to visit often anymore. I have also researched extensively on the DAAD website and they do not offer an English co-taught program in anything that I want to study. Help!!

Could the blend door actuator cause the a/c compressor to turn on and off?

I recently found out that my dads blend door actuator motor was broken in his 2001 for taurus because it only blew hot air at all times. So I decided to take the motor out and manually switch it so it could only blow A/C. After I did that I also noticed his A/C only works on High. So I went to auto-zone and got him a new resistor block so all speeds would work. Afterwards I also noticed I kept hearing a clicking noise from under the hood which turned out to be the a/c compressor turning on and off again reapeatedly. I was wondering if since I took the blend door actuator out and the connector that goes in the blend door actuator motor is just sitting there not connected to anything is that causing the a/c compressor to turn on and off. and if not what could be the problem? I already checked the relay under the hood.

Kirchhoff's first law on a discharging capacitor?

Consider a charged capacitor that is now switched to being in a series circuit with a resistor. As I understand it (and probably incorrectly) the charge on the negative plate moves away from the plate and is discharged across the resistor. But applying Kirchhoff's first law on the plate must mean that since a current is leaving, a current must be coming in?!? Does this mean there is a current across the gap. I've read that charge cannot travel across the gap. Could someone please help me understand what is actually happening? Thanks very much.

1995 Honda CBR 600 RR led light won't blink?

I installed the proper resistors for the front led turn signals (more than enough power, 2 wire hook up and right polarity), however I noticed that the left always works, the right rarely works right. It only works immediately when I left signal first then switch right. I'm stumped. I wired them correctly so what gives? Anyone that can help I'd greatly appreciate it.
