Making my own ringtones with verizon samsung reality and it won't work. Help?

I had this same problem. I did 2 things. I converted my ringtones to an ultra low bit rate format called qcp - they sounded horrible, but downloaded to the sd card they worked. I gave up trying to put mp3 ringtones on it until a few months later when my job gave me a blackberry. Not sure why I tried this, but I put the ringtones on that phone (just copied to the sd card, simplest ringtone install ever!!) and then mailed them from that phone to the Reality. once received as text message attachments from another Verizon phone, the reality agreed to set them as ringtones/
